Studies from the corpo world this month. Mainly pulled from digital boxes on my computer screen. Hundreds of talking heads, buoyed by squared shoulders and neutral faces.

Stare. Blink. Underreact. Smile, whenever appropriate. A friend of mine said that operating in the corporate world is acting. "That's why they call them performance reviews," she told me.

The top corpo guys never perform, but they certainly demand it. "We who are about to die salute you..." or something to that affect.

I am that guy sitting at a cafe, sketchpad or iPad in my lap, glancing about, drawing the faces I see.

I've always been that guy. Observing, sketching, writing. Driven by an odd impulse to document my small corner of the world. Too many faces. Too little ink.

Maybe it's my age, but looking across the scope of my life—having grown up in the 80s and 90s and seeing the modern technological age grow in real time—it's hard to deny that we live in the future.
