The United States is in a period of sharp decline.

The economy is teetering. Prices are surging. The Broligarchy undermines our democracy and livelihoods. An illegal war in the Middle East threatens to destabilize the region and the world. Armed, masked, men roam our streets disappearing people in the middle of the night without cause or warrant. Our president gilds himself in opulence while stealing billions from the treasury. Mass surveillance and grift are everywhere. Who could have possibly seen this coming? At times like these I think of the quote often attributed to Winston Churchill, likely apocryphal but appropriate to both the man and the subject: "You can always count on Americans to do the right thing—after they've tried everything else."

Americans have tried everything else. We've hit rock bottom. The question now is whether we keep digging or whether we do the right thing. Do the right thing. Go vote.
